Are your resolutions just a form or procrastination? We look at how you can get out of your own way, and learn to take action in 2019 rather than simply voice an intent by making resolutions.
Asking for help can give me ‘the ick’ big time, but here’s the thing, I’ve had to learn, there are times in our lives when we need support and guidance to help us make sense of the jumbled thoughts racing around our heads.
In this blog I look at three main things
How to get over yourself?
How do you ask for help?
Who do you ask?
This blog isn’t about being ill, it’s about the lessons I’ve received every day since. I’M LEARNING TO BE KIND TO LENA. That sounds simple enough doesn’t it? I promise you, it’s been nothing of the sort, but if you read this blog I hope you can shortcut your mental and physical wellness journey by applying at least some of the tips and tricks I’ve learned.
Our ‘Boss Lady’ Lena Robinson provides a brutally honest, revealing story about her struggles with Bipolar, anxiety and agoraphobia. Many people, non-conformists in particular, struggle with their mental health. Lena wrote this, not only because it was mental health week this week, but because she wants others to know, they are not alone, that you can get through whatever you are dealing with and that asking for help is the opposite of weak. It is actually brave and powerful to allow yourself to be vulnerable in front of others and that looking after your physical and mental well-being is paramount to a balanced, healthy, wonderful life.
We are so f***ing excited that we can finally tell you about this. The Boss Lady has been going stir crazy trying to keep her trap shut about this one ha ha. We have got a new FTSQ Senior Consultant joining us in the shape of Kerryn Beeching.
Kerryn is going to be working with us on a project by project basis and Lena could not be happier. Find out all the goss about who she is, where she’s from, what she’ll be doing and how she’ll fit in with the team.
It’s been a hell of a year for Wicked Waists, since we interviewed Chris Davis for our second ever podcast a year ago for Pride month. People were intrigued by Chris’s extraordinary life when we launched the podcast ‘Cars to Bras, the journey of a blind, transgender designer’.
Here’s what they’ve been up to since then and what they’re doing to celebrate Pride this month. We hope you enjoy finding out what it takes to keep an independent alternative clothing brand running during these challenging times.
